Which printing methods does Printegy offer?
At Printegy, we use various modern printing methods to bring designs to life on different products in the best possible way. The choice of technology depends on the material and the product. Currently, we work with the following printing methods: DTG (Direct-to-Garment), DTF (Direct-to-Film), sublimation printing, and UV printing.
DTG (Direct-to-Garment)
With DTG printing, the design is applied directly to the textile using a specialized inkjet printer. The ink penetrates the fibers of the fabric, resulting in particularly soft, durable prints with high detail accuracy. This printing technology is offered on most of our textile products but works especially well on thinner, natural materials such as cotton. DTG is mainly used on T-shirts, hoodies, and children’s clothing, as the print does not feel plastic-like and the textiles remain soft, unlike with the DTF method.
DTF (Direct-to-Film)
In DTF printing, the design is first printed onto a special transfer film and then transferred to the textile using heat and pressure. This method offers high flexibility with materials and produces durable prints. DTF is especially suitable for items with higher fabric weight, such as hoodies or thicker textiles, and can be applied to a wider range of fabrics compared to DTG. Therefore, DTF is used not only on T-shirts and hoodies but also on synthetic items, such as jackets, caps, hats, socks, backpacks, gym bags, or sports products.
Note: For most products, customers can choose between DTG and DTF. The desired printing method can be selected directly in the product settings within your account, ensuring the print is optimally adapted to the material and design.
Sublimation Printing
In sublimation printing, the ink is directly “vaporized” (sublimated) into polyester fibers or onto coated surfaces. The ink transitions from a solid to a gaseous state and permanently bonds with the product’s coating. The result is a highly durable print that cannot be felt, does not fade, and does not peel. This technology is used on items such as mugs, water bottles, piggy banks, mousepads, polyester textiles like wallets, and coated gift items.
Note: White and very light colors are not supported with sublimation printing. Any areas not printed remain transparent or show the base color of the material.
UV Printing
With UV printing, the design is applied directly to the product using UV-curable inks. The ink is immediately hardened with UV light, allowing it to adhere to many solid materials. This method enables very precise and durable prints on hard surfaces. Typical products include wooden items, plastic products, signs, and accessories.
Note: The printing method used depends on the specific product. The exact printing technology is usually indicated on the product page.
