Can I upload an alternative design for different colors of a product?

In Print-on-Demand, most designs are typically created for dark or black t-shirts as they stand out better on these colors. Light colors are often avoided because designs can blend with the background. However, this limits the potential of many cool designs due to the restricted color options.

We understand that you want to offer your designs on as many colors as possible to expand your product range and selection for your customers. With other PoD providers, you may have had to upload a new product with an alternative design in a different contrasting color to work around this issue. With us, it's quite different and much simpler! At Printegy, you can simply upload an alternative design for different color options of the same product and save them as different product variants.

Where can you set the alternative designs?

The alternative design feature is directly available in the product configurator under "Settings & Variants" for each product. Choose the colors for which you want to insert an alternative design for the front and possibly the back, and upload the file with the alternative design.

How does the product appear in Shopify?

The product is exported as a single product with various color variants. In the menu view, the alternative design of the product is displayed when your customers hover over it with the cursor. This not only enhances the professionalism of your shop but also provides extremely user-friendly navigation.

To achieve this hover effect in the menu view of the products, you should go to "Edit product" in Shopify and place the alternative image second in the "Media" section. Now, when your customers hover over the product, they will see the alternative design. Just note that this feature is only supported in certain Shopify themes.
